The Jefferson County Democratic Party, its candidates, and our work that we do on behalf of district, statewide, or national candidates relies on volunteers to complete activities to advance our mission.

Here are some ways that you can make a difference in your community and country with the Jefferson County Democratic Party:

• RUN FOR OFFICE

  • Do you have strong Democratic ideals? Do you like giving back to your community? Running for office is a calling to serve your community and neighbors in support of the operation and advancement of our local community. Every office - up and down the ballot - is important to ensure that our communities operate and thrive in many different ways. ​

  • The Jefferson County Democratic Party appreciates the opportunity to work with individuals that are interested in running for office. From educational opportunities, help through the petition and beginning process, and being able to work together to ensure success in both your candidacy and representation of the Jefferson County Democratic Party. 

• BECOME A PRECINCT COMMITTEEPERSON​

  • Do you want to become involved with the Jefferson County Democratic Party? Do you enjoy working alongside your neighbors to ensure that they are represented? In the State of Ohio, every precinct as set by your County Board of Elections is represented by one Democrat and one Republican to their County Party. These individuals assist in representation of their respective party members in their precinct to their respective county party. The Jefferson County Democratic Party has 64 Precincts in Jefferson County to have representation for and we still need individuals to represent some members of our local community. ​

  • The Jefferson County Democratic Party connects with Democratic-minded individuals throughout Jefferson County to represent the fine Democrats of the county, conduct party business, and work towards the successful operation of the Democratic Party brand in our county. 

• BECOME A DONOR​

  • Who enjoys asking for money? While we don't particularly enjoy it, let's be honest here - the operation of a political operation requires funds - from office supplies, supplies to go knocking on doors, marketing funds, contributions to our candidates, and much more. Even the donation that matches the price of a cup of coffee helps further our mission of the Jefferson County Demopcratic Party. ​

• DOOR KNOCKING​

  • Yes, even in 2025, we still knock on doors. Even with Digital Marketing, Social Media, online advertising, and much more - knocking on doors to get our message out is still proven to be one of the most effective strategies that is in existence today. From knocking on doors as a part of a coordinated effort at times throughout the year to knocking on doors in your local neighborhood to ensure that residents are registered, to ensure that they have a plan to vote, and much more - it is a critical part to ensure that our message is received throughout Jefferson County. ​

  • While Door Knocking is not a year-round effort, let us know that you are interested! We can inform you of when we have a coordinated effort to knock on doors throughout Jefferson County. Even if you are interested in knocking on doors in your local area - we want to know because we can help you make your time volunteering most effective by letting you know which houses to visit, provide materials to do so, and much more!

• PHONE CALLS​

  • We get it - Door Knocking is not for everyone. From safety concerns to physical concerns to simply wanting to help in another way, phone calls are still an effective method to reach voters today. Having direct conversations with members of our community on a variety of issues, candidates, and ensuring that they have a plan to vote is effective and ensures that our mission reaches as many people as possible.​

  • While phone calls do not happen all year-round, let us know that you are interested in doing so and we will be in touch when there are opportunities to do so.
